Business Cambridge Technical Level 3

What is a ‘Cambridge Technical’?  (Equivalent to 1 A Level)

Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications and are designed with the workplace in mind. They provide a beneficial alternative to A levels as students are assessed throughout the two years, making managing progress easier than linear A levels where results are only known at the end of two years. This Business qualification was re-launched for 2016 and designed in association with Businesses and Further Education organisations in order to help equip students with what they need in the working world.

What will I study?
There are 5 areas of study which involve exploring real life businesses. Over the past few years we have worked with and visited the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich and Thorpe Park as well as using current knowledge as consumers to help you write the three assignments.

How is the course structured and assessed?
The course consists of 5 units; The Business Environment; Customers and Communication; (both exams), and Working in Business, Human Resources and Marketing (written assignments). There are opportunities to resubmit work or re-sit the exams in order to improve your overall grade.

What grades do I need?
5 GCSEs at C grade or above (there is no requirement to have studied Business at GCSE level). You will be expected to manage your time well in order to meet deadlines.

What can the course lead to?
A career or apprenticeship in business or finance; or a degree in subjects such as Business, Marketing or Economics. The course will also allow you to develop practical employability skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and to manage your time effectively.
