The Open Academy is a publicly funded non-fee paying mixed secondary school for children in the Heartsease and surrounding area.

The Academy teaches students from Years 7 to 13 (aged 11 to 18) and offers outstanding education for all. We are ambitious and seek to maximise the potential of every child.

Inherent in everything we do at the Academy is a culture of high expectations and aspirations. Students are encouraged to develop a love of learning, to think for themselves and to maximise their full potential. Consequently, the Academy actively appoints teachers with a strong sense of moral purpose and a desire to help all students. We firmly believe that education can make a difference to the life chances of all young people.
